Day 1
Arrival in Colombo
Arrive in Colombo and receive a warm welcome before transferring to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a gentle introduction to Sri Lanka with a short city drive past colonial-era buildings, seaside Galle Face Green, and lively local neighborhoods. The evening is at leisure to recover from your journey and prepare for the cultural wonders ahead.
Day 2
Colombo → Sigiriya
Travel north into Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle, passing villages, rice paddies, and coconut groves. Arrive in the Sigiriya area and settle into your lodge surrounded by nature. The afternoon is free for relaxation or a visit to a nearby village to gain insight into rural Sri Lankan life. Early night in preparation for tomorrow’s climb.
Day 3
Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Surroundings
Begin before dawn to climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress (Lion Rock), reaching the summit at sunrise for panoramic views over the jungle canopy — one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic experiences. Descend past ancient frescoes and landscaped water gardens. Later, explore the region further with options such as a visit to a local spice garden or the ancient city of Polonnaruwa.
Day 4
Sigiriya → Kandy
Journey south toward Kandy, the cultural heart of the island. En route, stop at a spice garden to learn about Sri Lanka’s famous cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom. Arrive in Kandy by afternoon and enjoy a peaceful walk around Kandy Lake. In the evening, visit the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic, a deeply spiritual experience.
Day 5
Kandy → Ella (Scenic Train Journey)
Board the legendary Kandy–Ella train, considered one of the world’s most beautiful rail journeys. Wind through misty mountains, tea plantations, and dramatic valleys as daily life unfolds along the tracks. Upon arrival in Ella, settle into your hotel nestled in the hills and enjoy the cool mountain air.
Day 6
Ella & Tea Country
Explore Ella’s highlights, including a walk to the Nine Arch Bridge, best seen as a train crosses its graceful arches. Visit a nearby tea estate to learn about Sri Lanka’s world-famous Ceylon tea, from leaf to cup. The afternoon is free to relax, hike, or enjoy the scenery at your own pace.
Day 7
Ella → Yala National Park
Descend from the highlands toward the dry-zone wilderness of Yala. Arrive at your safari lodge in time to relax before an afternoon jeep safari in Yala National Park, home to leopards, elephants, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife. As the sun sets, return to camp for dinner under the stars.
Day 8
Yala → Galle
After breakfast, travel along the southern coast toward historic Galle. Arrive in the afternoon and explore the atmospheric Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander cobblestone streets lined with colonial architecture, boutique shops, and cafés. End the day with a sunset walk along the fort ramparts, overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Day 9
Galle → South Coast Beach
Continue to the South Coast and check into your beachfront resort. The day is at leisure — swim, relax, or enjoy optional activities such as whale watching (seasonal), snorkeling, or a traditional fishing village visit. This is your time to unwind after an adventure-filled journey.
Day 10
South Coast → Departure
Enjoy a final morning by the sea before transferring to the airport for your onward journey. Depart Sri Lanka with unforgettable memories of ancient cities, misty tea hills, wildlife encounters, and coastal charm — a perfectly balanced introduction to the island’s most iconic experiences.
